Introduction

Global communication and collaboration offers a wonderful way to conquer LOCAL and GLOBAL insularity and encourage self aspirations and esteem...with a carefully planned mix of the physical and virtual. Physical face-to-face meeting can be costly for many reasons: monetary, time, environmental and political. However, communications technology offers a wonderful opportunity to enhance the value of a physical event - over time and geography - with tools such as WIKI and Videoconferencing. Local and Global Reach

Here is a stunning example of how far we can reach out from local to global right into the home! Imagine you are a child involved in the design and presentation of this zero cost energy bike below, or looking at this amazing young person in Delhi presenting their bike! We start with a presentation of a zero cost energy bike at a Suffolk workshop. Five local schools, Secondary and Primary, got together in an intensive workshop exploring and presenting ideas on zero cost energy. Their output was uploaded to our site. To our amazement, we then see our partner school in India have taken up the idea, and you can see the playground presentation in New Delhi! What an Expectation shock - you just would not expect this!

But then , even more astonishing, we see the bike in a New Delhi home being used to generate electricity and light!

Finally, we see the bike being used to generate electricity...to make light...to allow this young person...to read!

So we see our Community Cohesion going local and global - right into the home! Driven by Expectation shock! And imagine how you would feel if you were a child on this project - what it would do for your aspirations and esteem - if you played a part in this.
